In 1994 Kirt started writing a difficult letter that he would eventually show to some friends and send to his immediate family. This refers to Kirt's official "coming out" letter. Speaking of "coming out," We share this virtual world just as we share our home & our lives. We met in the spring of 1996. We have fallen in love, and we have made a commitment to each other to be partners for the rest of time. For Kirt, being Gay and Mormon has been a significant challenge. Roger also had his own difficulties to face growing up in the relatively small community of Casper, WY. And as you can imagine, in Casper, there was not much of a support system for growing up gay. We have both come a long way as we are both "out" to our families as well as most, if not all, of our friends. We were as open with our relationship as we possibly could be during our time in Utah (considering the large conservative population in Provo.) So far, we have done the same in Anchorage, and it seems to be a positive situation for us here as well.

We share a love for the outdoors. We have gone on a many camping trips, and we are excited to explore the mountains of Alaska together. Alaska weather has been different for us, but we love it and are excited to be living in the great state of Alaska.

We have shared some personal information with you here, some of which might help someone who is searching for gay people and or partnerships that they could turn to for understanding, and we hope that it's helped you to know us better. Feel free to
